In Fake light

Hey guys. I’ve come into a few problems with this project that I really only have one way to get out of them.

Which is to cut the visual novel, and try something else.

When I first decided I wanted to do IFL (back when it was untitled) I always knew I wanted to have it be in comic form. But my artistic limitations stopped me from pursuing it, and so the comic sat around untouched for years.

Then I picked it back up, decided to make it a text adventure. Which wasn’t working for me.

Then the visual novel. The problem with the visual novel is that I’m not a writer, I’m basically trying to write a book, and I’m a horrible writer.

I can write dialog. I can’t write everything else.

So at this point, I’m trying to decide what to do. I’m scrapping the Visual Novel idea.

I don’t know if I should attempt the comic, or go back to text adventure.

On one hand the comic will let me be able to draw more than write, and be able to show what’s happening instead of having you read it.

But it’s a very linear thing, comics. I’m not sure if I want it to be so linear. I want people to have fun with it, and to be able to talk to who they want.

Which is why I’m considering a text adventure. Which has writing, but not as much as a VN. Plus people can try and advance the story themselves. It’d be fun to see how things play out…

I don’t know… what should I do?

He’s shy, energetic, and gentle.

I modeled his wings off of golden retriever tails but it’s kinda dumb looking idek

Shina and Zeni were orphans, homeless and living off of sympathetic passer-bys and half-eaten sandwiches. Zeni always found a way to get food for his little sister, but always made her wait in a designated spot. One day, he never came back. But Shina never left the spot they agreed to meet at. She waited. And waited… And waited… And died of starvation.

Soon after his beloved sister died, Zeni died as well. Losing the only thing he had sent him into downward spiral of despair, causing him to commit suicide.

They are both brown bears, representing their stubbornness. Shina has a lilac hue centered around her innocence, and Zeni has a royal blue centered around his loyalty and drive to protect his beloved sister.

Light Blue Moth

Named Beth in life she was an armature photographer photographer who was fascinated by light.

She was out one night during a storm trying to snap a photo of one of her favorite subjects, lightning. Unfortunately she didn’t stop to think about the consequences of using a metal tripod during a storm and zap. She was hit. Like a moth in a bug-zapper.

She was given the color light blue, the color of youth. Often seen on those who are more free thinking and truthful. She can be very blunt at times though and will say things that can hurt without realizing it.

HEY EVERYONE! I have some news!

I’m nearing the completion of the First chapter of IFL!

Now, this won’t be posted publicly. But I have thought of a cute little event to ensure that you will get to be one of the first people to beta test it!

All you need to do is draw the background character you have created, in a Christmas sweater! Really, that’s it! You can do more, of course. Go all out if you want! Just be sure to tag it #IN FAKE LIGHT

You’ll also be ensured that your character will be introduced (or at least make a cameo) IN the first chapter!

What’s that? You haven’t made a background character, but you’re interested in beta testing?

Hey everyone, wow so I took a break. ( and by took a break, I mean I factory reset my laptop and lost ren’py and have yet to fix everything I lost ).
But I was planning on taking a break to establish a main goal in the story and I think I’ve got one figured out now :).
I’m currently in Texas and don’t have time to work on IFL anyway, bug I will be getting back to it!!
